First Look: Sony Pictures Television/NBC Universal/CBS Studios International joint Australian TV channel partnership, TV1, has just unveiled its new look.

The extensive refresh includes a re-imagining of the channel’s five mini brands (Generic, Comedy, Crime, Afternoons and Groovy Movie)- all the while retaining TV1′s halo brand, which has been described as “modern retro”.
Toscha Irving, head of design for TV1, began the brand assignment with a concept and storyboard in mind creating a base for the team at creative agency zspace to further develop. The entire OSP, as well as an array of promo package elements, and all idents were produced in 12 weeks.
TV1 personalities, from shows including 30 Rock, House, and Monk, are featured throughout, projecting their 2D image onto a 2D card, that is then tracked and composited into a the new look 3D environment.
The new look launched last week on June 1, on Foxtel & Austar.
