First look: There are few television idents that draw as much international chatter as the ones produced for Channel 4. If you’re in the UK, you might have noticed a recent, subtle on-air refresh, including these just released new idents that extend the current crop of creative favourites. If you are unfamiliar with C4, look for the 4 logo incorporated briefly as all the elements merge and then part. Blink and you might just miss it.
I’ll look forward to sharing a full breakdown of the refresh, including snapshots of the new on screen presentation in the coming weeks. Special thanks to Channel 4 for the video and kind words about the blog.
*Note that the 3rd ident “Scrapyard” was originally briefly seen in 2009 as a special 3D ident during 3D week.

The airplane graveyard ident is particularly jaw-dropping. It’s a good thing 4Creative stick in the UK market or the creatives Stateside might have something to worry about.
is there a reason why they have put an extra part onto of one of the buildings that isn’t actually there?
