A Glimpse at the New ‘Male Dedicated’ TV Channel: Nitro


Spain’s Antena 3 has just given us a glimpse of Nitro, a new channel dedicated to the male audience. Featuring shows including Southland, 24, Third Watch, and Boston Legal, the new channel expects to expand coverage to 90% by August 23.

Nitro joins channel stablemates Nova (female targeted) and Neox (youth targeted). I have to say the names are quite catchy in a futuristic, Total Recall sort of way.

The new Nitro look (designed by Madrid based Toch) is presented in a quite striking yellow contrast, which sort of reminds of what a Selfridges channel might look like. There is also a subtle nod to racing industry in the package which may certainly generate even more eye catching interest for some. Here’s a look at two branding/montage packages.
